LOGO ECO-FIRA

The DYES4EVER project final event will be presented on October 20-22, 2015 in Ecofira fair in Valencia -. In the event the results of its development will be presented.

ECOFIRA is the international competition of environmental solutions, a meeting point where companies and government agencies present the latest advances in efficient environmental management. With 11 previous editions, the event has become a reference for professionals and companies, not only for its commercial offer, but also by its nature a forum for discussion and knowledge.

ECOFIRA offer meets all areas of interest in environmental management from collection, transport and treatment of waste recovery and waste recycling or waste disposal systems.

NETWORKING AT REDIT

The REDIT (Network of Technological Institutes of Valencia) in conjunction with Cámara de Valencia host an interesting event around European LIFE Programme.

The event will serve as a platform for establishing contacts with organizations from different sectors for the development of new projects under the 2015 call for the LIFE program.

The event will also allow disseminate results and success stories, such as the DYES4EVER Project and experience, recommendations and lessons learned when preparing proposals of LIFE projects.

Title: Interaction between industrial textile dyes and cyclodextrins

Abstract

The interactions between two industrial textile dyes in aqueous solution and a series of different commercial cyclodextrins (CDs) has been investigated at 25 °C by spectrophotometric and electrochemical measurements to study their efficiency in the removal of color from real textile wastewater.

This is the first step of the objectives of LIFE + European project, DYES4EVER, which consists in the use of cyclodextrins for the treatment of textile industry wastewater (LIFE12 ENV/ES/000309).

The main aim of DYES4EVER is the demonstration and validation of cyclodextrins as encapsulation agents for textile dyes from wastewater. This is in order to recover and reuse both clean water and dyes for other industrial processes.

The molar extinction coefficients of dyes have been established by means of UV spectra, while Benesi–Hildebrand treatment has been proposed to evaluate the binding constants analyzing spectrophotometric and electrochemical data.

AITEX AT BIOBASED ECONOMY EVENT

DYES4EVER PROJECT was presented at BIOBASED ECONOMY EVENT.

The overall aim of the international conference “biobased economy“ in Potsdam is to bring together actors along the entire value chain not only to identify the potential for biobased processes but to also address gaps in value chains and work on sustainable solutions. In this regard, an intense knowledge-transfer between companies and research institutes as well as regions in Europe seems vital to pave the way for more actors in the biobased economy.
